Feisty!

This photo was taken just post her lip surgery. I want to snack on her!! You can't tell in this photo, but they only shaved the front half of her head. He he he. She is so cute, I can't stand it!! We got her medical profile this week. She's healthy, and apparently our little China girl is feisty!!  Her over all personality is described as quiet and shy, she is cooperative when she gets dressed, she has a ready smile, and is fond of her toys. Then... she is obstinate sometimes, impatient sometimes, and cries fiercely if she doesn't get her nanny right when she wants her. AND, she doesn't calm down right away, she cries even more fiercely so the nanny knows her displeasure!!  OH MY spunky monkey!! I cannot wait to love on this baby!

Baby

Isn't she so cute?? Oh my gosh I love her so much!!  A lot of people are asking if we're disappointed that we're getting 1 instead of 2.  We are not.  I'm working on the boy to get another dossier started post haste so we can go get her a sister next year. We'll see how that works out.  It was so perfect that we got this little chicken. She is so ours, and it feels so right. You can't be disappointed when everything is happening exactly as it should. We have 5 little pictures of our baby girl, plastered all over the place. I hope so much that we get some more.

When I had my first baby, she wasn't allowed to board in with me in the hospital. I had a c-section, so we were in hospital for a few days. Every time they took her out of my room I would cry, and when they brought her back in, it would take my breath away.  It is exactly the same with this baby. Every time I see her picture, I have to catch my breath, my heart beat speeds up, and I want to cry. All at the same time.

Everyone warned us how very difficult it is when you get matched and have a baby on the other side of the world. I thought to myself that it wouldn't be so hard, I wouldn't even know her, it would just be a game of patience. Oh betty I was so wrong.  I do know her, I feel her, and I love her so much!! As soon as I told our social worker "We want her!", my heart was all over her. She is my baby, and she's on the other side of the world. It's going to be a long 6 months!!

Baby Girl

We have our girl! We get to go to China and pick her up in 6 months. Best. Day. Ever! We received her file last week, and said yes to her this morning. Isn't she so cute???
